ReplyDeletethis article is about not being prepared for the unexpected natural disasters that are occurring in the united states this year. from freezing winter temperatures and snowstorms to earthquakes that are occurring in California. this article is telling the readers not to blame the weather, rather blame yourself for not preparing for the worst. the writer mentioned that a high percentage of people in California don't have earthquake insurance. a lot of economical issues happen because of such events. yet people don't want to get up and start preparing themselves for the worst.

DeleteI kind of understand people who do not prepare for such disasters. Earthquake insurance is not cheap. Not everyone is able to afford it. You can take the risk, but if something unexpected happens, you should not complain about it.
DeleteThat is a novel topic. It is good for us, especially foreigners,to know some information about it.
DeleteIt sure seems that despite being in the age of technology, that we're really under-prepared. Disasters happen--they'll continue to happen. But some areas of the country are a lot more at risk. In Tucson, we're not going to have to worry about earthquakes, for example.
DeleteMy article was about the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity of Oklahoma, which made a video in which the members sang a very racist song against Afro American People. Because of that, the fraternity got kicked off campus immediately. Many students of the Oklahoma University were shocked and said that they don’t tolerate racism.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2015/03/10/racism-fraternity-oklahoma-free-speech-free-marketplace-column/24697041/
Interesting article. Did not know that there is still a sort of racism in the US. But I agree with not tolerating racism and therefore kicking the fraternity off campus.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
Deletei still don't understand how people still think being racist is ok! I'm glad they are off campus. hopefully this will be a lesson for others.
DeleteRacial discrimination is a great topic. It is a bad custom. We can't tolerate it and it could have some punishment for racists.
DeleteI also read that article, I agree with the consequences that were implemented against the fraternity, unfortunately racism will never end, the only thing people can do is to manage this problems.

DeleteFraternities do all kinds of things I don't like. Some fraternities are good, but most have a lot of parties.... and a lot of behavior that's not only racist but sexist. Some people say fraternities are a great way to make friends, etc. So I see why people might like them. They take a lot of time though and some of the fraternity students that I taught in the past got caught up in their fraternity and didn't always do their work.

DeleteRacial discrimination is detestable. these people should learn how to respect people of other races.Fortunately, these people have been kicked out of school.I hope they remember this lesson.
Deletehttp://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2015/03/10/mcdonalds-chicken-antibiotics-your-say/24735869/
ReplyDeleteMy article is about the fast food chain McDonald's, which wants to follow Chick-fil-A success. To do so, it wants to use antibiotics-free chicken and beef. There are different opinions about it. Some people are impressed, some are sceptical and some are still joking about McDonalds and refusing to ever eat there.
i don't see any reason for McDonald to do anything, because they serve around 70 million people a day. the income is so large i don't think it is necessary to follow any business's success.
DeleteThe model of Chick-fil-A may not suit for McDonald's. It is undeniable that using antibiotics-free chicken and beef is better for health. However, if the taste worse, it will still result in the loss of customers. And people who don't like eating fast food, whatever change you do, they still don't eat them.
DeleteI don't think McDonald's should try to follow Chick-fil-A. They should keep their own characteristics. Even though the antibiotics-free chicken and beef is healthier, people who are really concerned about health will never eat fast food. There is no need for making this change.
DeleteI do not think that McDonalds should follow at all Chick fill A strategy to success because the success that McDonalds have had around the world can't be compared with the one of Chick fil A.
DeleteIt can be a good thing if McDonalds really does what it says. It is just hard to believe that it will change the whole supply chains just to make their customers healthier......
DeleteWhatever people says, McDonald’s still serves globally, well which Chick-fil-A doesn't. Although, it is true that people are much more cares about the food safety than before, and seems like those who serves organic is the boss.
DeleteI would say Chick-fil-A and McDonald's have different target and different kind of marketing opinion. If McDonal's choses to use antibiotics-free chicken and beef, they will recieve a higher cost, if they don't raise their sales price, and they will get lower revenue, which makes the shareholders or the stockholders unhappy.
Deletefor consumers, that is a good news. for McDonald, that means they star to care about consumers' health. I think it is also a McDonald's response to the people questioned about their food.
DeleteI do understand that McDonalds wants to make this change to make their reputation better. However, this leads to an imitation of Chick-fil-A which I'm not sure will help them that much. I don't think either that people will care about this change.
Deletehttp://roadwarriorvoices.com/2015/03/10/is-moist-towelette-found-on-australian-beach-from-mh370/
ReplyDeleteThis is about the mysterious MH370. There was a couple found an moist towelette with the Malaysia Airlines' logo on West Australia beach. However, the officials say that it can not prove the connection with MH370 just by this towelette. Even though the flight disappeared for 12 months at now, they could understand these family's feelings, they will continue to do search the flight.
A small towelette found on a beach brought MH370 back again into our sight. Though it has been 12 months since the flight disappeared, people haven't lost their hope to find the flight yet. This towelette, according to the experts, is not a valuable clue, but searching for the flight may be still the best answer right now for the passengers' families.
DeleteIt seems logical that people find small parts of the plane. However, it is impossible to believe, that something like a plane can disappear for more than one year without finding bigger parts of it.
DeleteI agree with Lukas. It's just too hard to believe that a huge plane can disappear like that. There must be something else.
Deletehttp://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2015/03/10/apple-watch-technology-your-say-tellusatoday/24735993/
ReplyDeleteMy article is about Apple Watch. People have different opinions on the feasibility of this product. Some people argue that there is no market because it is not really necessary and the price is high. The others think it is convenient and bold though it is behind the times. However, it is high technology and Apple fans would be interested in this.
Although nobody actually need such a high tech watch, I still think that it will be successful. People always want to have the newest and the best technology and especially the products of Apple are very very popular.
DeleteNo matter how much apple watch costs, it is just a electric watch with high technology. We cannot make it compare to a classic watch, we should take it more like a electric product. I think apple watch could change people life style and also make it convinence in our life.
Deletehttp://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2015/03/10/racism-fraternity-oklahoma-free-speech-free-marketplace-column/24697041/
ReplyDeleteThe article discusses the case of a fraternity at the University of Oklahoma which were taped singing racial statements, due to this case the fraternity was kicked off the school. Because of this problem students of that school protested against racism. The author of this opinion articles make us know that unfortunately this is just showing us the reality around american society.
The article, I have read, is talking about how long do lots of specific tenchnologies reach the real world. The author use a picture for every specific technology to help reader feel big changes from before to present directly. In this digit age, the development of tenchnologies is one of the most important things for human.Lots of people are interested in this type of articles, including me.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2015/03/10/apple-watch-technology-your-say-tellusatoday/24735993/
ReplyDeleteThe article is about Apple Watch. Apple recently announced that the Apple watch will be avaliable on April 24. Apple Watch is a great step on wearable technology. People have different opinions towards this product, and the whole wearable technology thing. Some people think it is progress. It is useful. Some think it's unnecessary and a waste of money. To me, i think it really is a big step in technology, and it may help us in many ways. However, i don't really like wearable technology. First of all, watches play an important part in men's wardrobe, women's too, since a long time ago. A good watch can show a lot about the person. Moreover, those who like to collect good watches or those who like good watches are not in the customer group for Apple Watch. Thus, most of the customers should be teenagers or those who are into technology, but the price is so expensive that many people cannot afford it. Last but not least, personally, i think the wearable technology will cause a huge aesthetic downfall.
The article I read is about the apple watch. The apple watch was announced on March 9,2015. Some people think the watch is an option if you own an Iphone and some people think they don't have market. Some people think apple watch is a technological product. However, as an apple's fan, I would say it is better to comment after we try it instead of making commet from the data.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2015/03/10/apple-watch-technology-your-say-tellusatoday/24735993/
Personally I am an Apple fan, too. What I saw the most in those comments are positive. I think most of people’s concern is focusing on the price.
DeleteThis watch look like is very beautiful, but many information about this machine does not display, so I am very except it.
DeleteIf you are interested in Apple, you would pay attention to every new product in Apple. Because of that, this article catch Apple fans' attention.
DeleteI am so curious about apple watch, but it is a little expensive. Thus, i really lile it
DeletePersonally I believe technology is starting to go too far. This product is not necessary in any way and I think the only people who's going to buy this watch is Apple fan and those who have the need to get exclusive toys.
DeleteApple wants to own the whole technology demand. Every product is somehow connected with each other or part of it. I like apple, but it getting out of the hand I think.
DeleteThe article I read is about Iran nuclear issue. This is a topic goes on for decided, but government is still struggling on this problem. American government is trying their best to achieve the goal to stop Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon by write to the Iran leader. President Obama's term will expires in two years. Therefore, Anything less will not be considered a binding agreement, but in particular with the nuclear deal President Obama intends to strike with Iran.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2015/03/10/iran-nuclear-talks-letter-47-senators-sen-tom-cotton-editorials-debates/24721971/
The article of Apple watch will pre-orders starting April 10. The Apple wants their followers can wear this technology. This technology summery many experience, bold and different. But many people are confused about why must people, who use Apple machines, always be connected, and what machine will be produced nest time. A person said if “no market for Apple Watch. It's a gimmick device.” The Apple Watch just is to stimulate the market. Also this watch maybe expensive then others watches, but people will be very happy to wear it to business casual events.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2015/03/10/apple-watch-technology-your-say-tellusatoday/24735993/
DeleteThe Apple watch that has only 18 hours battery life, which is even less than normal cellphone's battery life, is just useless.
DeleteI think that Apple watch is useless because we all use mobile phones and why to spend way more for a watch which is a smaller version or your phone. Apple watch also needs a iphone 5s or later, for people who own an iphone it is ok to buy it but for people who use android or windows phones should change their phones.
Deletehttp://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2015/03/10/mcdonalds-chicken-antibiotics-your-say/24735869/
ReplyDeleteThis article is about the decision has made by McDonald's. Antibiotic-free chicken made Chick-fil-A been success in a few years, so right now McDonald's wants to follow the Chick-fil-A to use the antibiotic-free chicken. But many consumers are concerning about the taste of the food that made by antibiotic-free chicken in McDonald's, also many Americans are doubt for the effect of this decision.
Although McDonald's wants to make its food healthier, people will still not treat McDonald's as household food. Fast food will never be the household food.
DeleteVery curious. But I'm not sure whether there will actually be any difference in the "new" chicken. I'm also not sure whether or not the clientele at McDonald's is really going to pay attention one way or another.
DeleteI am so scared, our dorm is next to the MC. I always buy MC when i do not have time to cook. So now I do not want to eat it
DeleteHA! Food problem is always an issue, but it seems that people can do nothing about it.
Deletepeople always like to eat fast food, even they know the bad influence MC will cost for your body.
DeleteI think that McDonalds also should follow what chick fil a is doing to make their food a little healthier.
Deletehttp://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2015/03/10/hillary-clinton-emails-private-account-tellusatoday-your-say/24681977/
ReplyDeleteThe article I read is about people’s attitude towards Hillary Clinton, who exclusively used a personal email account for government business when she served as secretary of State. Most people think her action raise the risk of her affair been exposed. The security and confidentiality of her affair will be challenged.
It is not that big deal, but for some people it is. Using personal email means she is hiding something and wanted to do something secret without others know, maybe passing the government secrets.
DeleteWell, that make sense for her action raising risks, but, personally, why she cannot have her own email? She is an individual, like others. I mean people seem to be so mean to the government.
DeleteI heard about this on TV today. I think it's a big deal about nothing though. And I don't understand why it has to be such a big news item. The truth is that everyone is thinking this will hurt her presidential bid. (She might probably run for President next time.)
ReplyDeleteI read the article about a fraternity in Oklahoma, SAE, who was singing on a bus a very racist song including the n-word. The entire fraternity got kicked off the campus and two members got expelled. The author says that there doesn’t need to be any further punishment for the students because of the negative reaction from other students that indicates their disagreement to that behavior. These guilty students will get punished enough by social media and embarrassment.

Ohio is one of the states where marijuana is banned, but the voters in November can make the pot legal. if that happens, Ohio will be the first state to go directly from banned to legalized for both medication and recreation. This is the basic information about the article i read. It mainly discussed about the influence and outcome from this act.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2015/03/08/ohio-trendy-pot-state-column/24604113/
I read the article “Hillary has a lot of company: Column”, this article talk about controversy of Hillary Clinton’s use of private email. Certainly, there are an array of prominent politicians have used their private accounts for government business. "It's an issue that is common on all levels of government. The use of texts and private e-mails are an end run around the public's right to know. Clinton ran for the presidency in 2008, she wrote I believe in an open, transparent government that is accountable to the people. But principles are one thing. Practice is another.

I read Will consumers answer Apple Watch's call? #tellusatoday, and I found that it generally talks about if Apple watch is worthy to buy. In the article, there has two sides opinions, agree and disagree. For agree side, people think Apple watch will sell well since it is more technology, however, for disagree side, people think that Apple watch is too expensive and has poor functions and appealing now so it will not sell well.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2015/03/10/apple-watch-technology-your-say-tellusatoday/24735993/
I will not buy the apple watch. It is too pricey and it is too small for using it.
DeleteMy article is Punchlines: Buy Apple responsibly, In which the author tells us that the only way to be responsible to to completely avoid technology. There is a video in which talk show hosts comment about Apple watch in a funny way and one of them compared it to the swiss knife of wearable devices.
