  1. This article is about the lying research. First scientists found that lying exists all around people no matter who you are. The reasons why we would lie are we forgot, we remember falsely and for a good reason. About detecting lies, people would become sensitive, and there is an experiment have shown it.

    5. Yes, there are lots of reasons for people to lie to others.Sometimes it's not important for us to figure out whether the person talking to us at that moment is lying or not.

    6. well, people always lie for the benefits, and the memory is vulnerable so that we would forget what we said before. this is why we always lie and always can be detected in our daily lives.

The article I read talks about the introduction of a bill that bars discrimination against gay and transgender individuals while protecting the rights of religious groups and individuals in Utah. The proposal prohibited discrimination of gender identity and sexual orientation. Those LGBT activists had tried many efforts to push a non-discrimination law in Utah. But the proposal still got some critics.

    1. It's not surprised that Utah have such discrimination on homosexual and transgender individuals. Because Christian or Catholic and almost every popular religion does not think homosexual and transgender is an appropriate behavior.

      Delete
    2. The Mormon is very common in Utah, maybe it's not acceptable in terms of transgender or homosexual and some other non-traditional behavior.

      Delete
    3. As Asian, I would feel a little uncomfortable to gays and transgender, but I will still show my respect to them. We have no right to judge or against them, as they were us, just a little bit different.

      Delete
    4. As a Latino and more important as a HUMAN i think that we should promote love and respect to all the people no matter what sexual orientation we could have. Homosexuals heterosexuals and transgeders are people too.

This article clearly point out the Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced to take dreamers' driving licences away. Because he thinks dreamers is illegally in this country, they do not have the right to hold a driving licence and work in United States. But in fact, most states in this country already allow dreamers to have driving licences and even work in states. Then the article give the explanation of why dreamers hold a driving licences is an important issue to government.

    1. That is interesting about dreamers. In my opinion, we should not allow dreamers to drive during the day, since dreamers probably cannot focus on driving. About work, I think that only decrease the efficiency.

    2. I think that everyone want to be a dreamer. Dreamer can do what they want to do, but sometimes dreamer can cause a lot of trouble.

When we are going to a restaurant to get food, we always want to pay less money to get more high- quality food. Actually, many restaurants use some strategies to let us take more dollars to pay for food. Greg Rapp, a menu consultant in California, summarized few ways companies get you to spend more than you intended on food. 1. Get The Dollar Signs Out, because the dollar signs remind people of money, when you use dollar signs, your food looks more expensive and appealing. 2.Words Matter, because imagery and language can also make prices go down easier. For example, when the menu says “flaky cod marinated in our house sauce, served with country peas”(Greg Rapp). That will more easier to attract you to order it. 3. Hand- Eye Coordination, the closer you are to something, the more likely you are to make an impulse buy. 4. Controlling The Choices, for example, many years ago, some restaurant only sales two sizes of drinks, a 14-ounce drink (regular) and 20- ounce drink (large), but in 2012, they revamped the sizes, regular became small, and the large became regular, then added a new 32-ounce large. Giving more choices also just increases the odds that something will appeal the people.

This article points out that we should control ourselves in terms of wasting. It's a social phenomenon that millions tons of food is discarded by lots of people while there are still some hungry people waiting for food. However, The wasted food sometimes is not possible to be transported to these hungry people in real life situations. What's more, In order to grow this big amount of food, massive use of pollutants like fertilizers are needed. The dumped food and the fertilizers can increase the amount of greenhouse gas in the air and change the climate. The author of this editorial states that if we consume less, then maybe less food is wasted, thus some current problems related with wasting can be solved.

You're right. The waste products, dumped food or some sorts of things should be recycled rather dump them away.

according this news, I know that a third of the food in the world is wasted, the discard of these food will lead to millions of people starved and food waste pollutes the environment. In the United States, and there are 72 million tons of food are discarded per year.Food waste will pollute the environment. Globally, most of the food waste is dumped in landfills, and then they cause methane, finally they can produce greenhouse gases. So we should reduce waste and don't buy too much food.

    1. I had no idea the percentage was so high. That's very scary. And there are a lot of laws in restaurants that make them throw away food because it was served on a table, etc. But that seems pretty wasteful, especially if you've ever visited countries where there are truly poor people who would do anything for a little food to get by.

The first work during the life is very important for us. Many of companies require their employees have work experience before they get this job. But if all the employers pay attention to the work experience above everything, how could young people who do not have prior work experience find a job? By this article, author is appealing to everyone to engage his team and provide paying job opportunities for young person who in school or graduates. This is a win-win program. Not only encouraging young person to position themselves and find job, but also could help potential employer find a suit partner in the future.

this article talks about the lies. everyone would lie in their daily life and this is a nature instincts for people to seeking benefits, like a measure for getting benefits. so why many people could find some one lying to them? this is not just beacuse the people who lying so bad, one more suitable casue is that our menmory is vulnerable and we always forget what we said before so that people could find the lies easily.

  12. I am shocked by the fact that we wasted 3/10 foods in the world. It can feed 870 million hungry people in this world. It is such a shame when we wasted food on whatever reasons are. The news also mentioned that one way to solve the problem is to calculate your demand and only buy how much you would need for a period.

Football season is coming up! We get another chance to win Pac-12 Title.
Lat year, under coach Rich Rodriguez, the wildcats were really impressive, they beat ASU and Oregon, which I assumed the top two football team in Pac-12.And now it's time to look forward, new season. It's a time for getting stronger, faster and more confident in the various schemes. A true fact that, the first official training hasn’t changed one aspect of Arizona practice. Hopefully, this season, the wildcats can come to college football playoffs.

  14. I selected a article about a shocking waste of 72 million tons of food. It said that:"A third of the food produced in the world is never consumed. It’s thrown out even as millions of people go hungry, and the food waste degrades the environment. Enough is discarded by consumers or wasted in production in developed countries to feed the world’s 870 million hungry people, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations." I am going to write an essay about fertilizers. Obviously fertilizer helps growing food to feed people but it also hurts our environment. But if people waste so much food, the waste-food could cause a pollution to our environment again. Wasting food means wasting money and hurting the people who still suffer from hungry. http://tucson.com/ap/commentary/shocking-waste-of-million-tons-of-food/article_369ac553-ad55-5b8b-9839-c9abb8700702.html

this article talks about that people all lies and this is how human language different with animal communication system. Then, the author use a TED talk and some research to proof that our memory can make us become untruthful. The Author also use some research from business and law enforcement to show that some people can detecting lies.

I chose the article "Lying is everyday occurrence — for famous, rest of us", this article said lying is a common in the daily life, everybody will lie, lying doesn't have anything to do with age, even 2-year-old children will lie. And this article reveals two main reasons why we are lying, first one is memory is vulnerable and remember falsely, we can't remember everything accurately, so we maybe say incorrect things to others. Another reason is some specific cues, like occupation, social intercourse, we have to lie to reaching our aims.

I read the opinion article by David Fitzsimmons and i thought it was really interesting because its a critic to the new famous movie "50 shades of Grey". In his article Mr. Fitzsimmons harshly criticize this new movie and says that is not fair to support these characters that support sexual violence. I think it was really interesting and polemic because he is talking about a movie and a book that pretty much most of the girls on campus love. Furthermore he is VERY critical I think that he must remember that this is only a movie.
