http://www.expatsblog.com/news/0512135887/employers-slow-to-help-new-expat-staff Expat employers expect newbies to go it alone I agree that expat employers expect newbies to go it alone, with the development of science and technology.A person`s ability seems to be more important. Take my country as an example, Many people in my country, the problem of population is very important. The problem of employment also more and more serious. A person's ability to decide whether he can get a better job. So I think work alone can make newbies ability get practice. And then, they can do more difficult work, and to bring the considerable income. That is why I agree with them.
This is an interesting travel, the life of a mother and her child in Italy. Because her parents are immigrants and came to Italy, so she had hoped to spend four months in Milan, but later she was persuaded by her boyfriend, and then she changed to other city to live, and then to settle down. Her language is primitive and simple here, maybe another people think she is stupid, she experienced some subtle irony here. But she believes that English is a tool for people to communicate, she can learn and use it slowly. This is the experience that she wanted to tell every new immigrants. Modena is a beautiful city, it has a elegant museum and bustling downtown. She stay here comfortable and at ease, makes me very yearning.
I admit that I love to be in Italy. I have relatives there, so it's easy for me. I've worked really hard to speak Italian. I still make lots of mistakes, however.
American Expat Living in Goa, India - Meet Rachel http://www.expatsblog.com/articles/1675/american-expat-living-in-goa-india-meet-rachel
This blog is about girl Rachel, who moved in India after a long experience of traveling. She stayed in India for few months, and than she met her boyfriend, with whom she lives now. In this interview she is talking about her life there, how she lives every day, and what she misses the most. Rachel also says that India is a different country than the USA, because is more chaotic and you need to get used to difficulties there. Women are sometimes poorly treated by uneducated men. In this blog we can see many differences between two countries and two different cultures, and Rachel is the one who actually feels them.
Interesting choice--Rachel's choice is interesting too. Yes, I think in comparison India would seem chaotic. The pictures looked beautiful however! And I think I would like living by a beach. However, maybe it would be too hard to get my work done.......
The blog is great which I found in American expat blogs, it is about a British woman in an LDR marriage to stay with her husband and move to America. In fact, There are three parts that she has shown to reders. The fisrt one she stated her first thing that struck she about her new life living abroad and differences things she noticed. Secondly, she wrote some experiences about what did she do to make she feel at home,. Finally, she gave three top tips for every future ex-pats about first moment in foreign country. In conclusion, I have same experiences and feeling with her ,because I am also a American ex-pat.
As I look at It, It is vital way to familiarize culture, food and friends in locals to live well in different society for expats . This article is about British woman who is teaching Kindergarteners in Geoje Iland, South Korea. She moved from London, England to Geje Iland because she was offered as a teacher. When she first came to Geoje Iland, she missed her mom cook, local bar and British food. So, she tried to participate in church, sports club and Korean lessons to associate with expats and local people. She said to expats that we have to embrace all things whether it is good or not. Because It helps us make life better.
As an ex-pat, I think you have to work hard to feel at home in your new community. It's easier for college students since there are other students in the same situation. Still, it's not easy!
In Chiang Mai The author went to Ching Mai, which is the biggest city in northern Thailand to escape the cold wether. I can understand it. You will have feelling if you went to Boston or NY in the winter before. Comparing with Tucson, it's such two different countries. When people who living in Boston wearing like a obesity bear, people in Tucson just put T-shirt and jeans on it. It's kind of amazing. And the author showed some pickture she took in Ching Mai, I swear she wasn't a good photographer. Because Ching Mai is a amazing city in my mind, and I plan to be there this summer. But after I read her blog, I just want to change my plan.
I liked Chiang Mai a lot. I liked being in many places in Thailand. Chiang Mai is easier than Bangkok, which is such a big city. We relaxed when we were there and saw a lot of sights. We also did fun things such as elephant riding!
'Walking the Walk: What Sharks, Honeybees and Humans Have in Common' This blog is talk about that a research team has found that the Hadza tribe’s movements while foraging can be described by a mathematical pattern called a Lévy walk – a pattern that also is found in the movements of many other animals from sharks to honey bees.this research could be a good evidence to prove that we have a lot of common ground with animals. It most has some laws in nature and it will be fun to find the laws.
Fukushing radiation hazards March 11, 2011, 9 earthquake occurred in Japan and triggered a huge tsunami as high as 10 meters causing the Tokyo Electric power company nuclear power plant in Fukushing NO. Right now, as the Fukushing nuclear disaster grinds on with seemingly no short-term solution. The nuclear radiation is very dangerous for human. It will kill cells in the human body or make human cell mutation. Thus make human life cut very short. Recent catch have reveled fish with levels of up to 12, 400 becquerels per kill of highly radioactive cesium, 124 times higher than government-set safety levels. Fish is the staple in most Japanese diets and often eaten raw, and the admitted 300 tons of irradiated water which leaked into the ocean late last year is clearly taking its toll on Japan's important seafood exports as well as domestic demand. So we should pay attention to very much if you want to go to Japan. http://www.expatsblog.com/news/1501145946/expats-and-tourists-warned-of-fukushima-radiation-risks
Today, I read a blog which was writing by two American people live in China. They name are Seth Aanderson and Amanda Roberts. They get married in March of 2010. But at that time, they both can’t found the full-time teaching jobs. So they decide moved to China. Then they moved to China in August of 2010. This blog record their taught and life in China. In this blog, they wrote a lot of Chinese location’s news. For example, China has the human population many years ago, so the government point out the one-child policy in 1979. Until now, the government announces the new reforms. The old law was Chinese couples may have two children if both of them are single children. Under the new law, Chinese couples can have two children if just one of the parents was only child. They think this reform is not very useful.
Oi, it's always interesting to see what outsiders say about your country! It's a big decision to live somewhere else, so I always think it's interesting to find out what motivated them.
Today, I read a blog, It talks about an US expat living in London, England. She was from Washington State, America. She has the same reason with me for go to another country that is for studying. From this blog, I get those information: first one, she like living in London, and will plan to live forever; second one, she think it is expensive to live in the central London: third one, she suggests that the person who is going to move to London just be patient and be wide-eyed. Then you can adapt with London’s life, and have lots of friends. The last one is talking about her experience, for a foreigner living in America, I totally agree with its. And her suggestion is good for me adjust to the culture.
London is expensive all right. It's a big capital city, so the cost is to be expected. I do like London though--there is a lot happening and it's exciting. There are people from all over the world, both who live here and who are visiting.
This blog is about a visitor Impressions of Kenya ,An Minnesota Family to Kenya to Travel ,The Kenya' people is very friendly, They seemed genuinely interested in and happy to meet the people ,and the Rift Valley is very beautiful ,If my have enough time, I think I'll go to this place. but In Kenya, Traffic is a serious problem , The cars squeezing within inches of each other to merge. and In the juxtaposition between the rich and the poor is so blatantly obvious, It makes me know even though our standard of living is more and more better, But in this world , we still have many people living in poverty, I think the author' trip is very meaningful.
Very interesting choice. I think it would be quite hard to live in Kenya. I haven't been there yet, but I have also heard it is beautiful. Nice choice!
In this blog, I read about that the writer is a Brazilian woman. she came to US because of her lover she wants to have a normal life with the one she loved. The writer is a shy woman, but when she faced to the problems she realized she was braver than she thought. Just like her I am not brave as well not like doing new things, but once I came to America I finally became braver and more outging. I try to fit in local people's culture, I do my best for my acdemic those things makes me happy. This is a new start of my American experience.
It is very brave of you to have an American experience! And no matter what, it will help you in the future because you are learning so much about being independent, etc.
Today I had read a blog what talk about that an American names Cassim who worked in the United Arab Emirates has been the first foreigner to be arrested under newly-introduced cybercrime laws. He and his friend had post a video on YouTube depicting a satirical view of life in Dubai for young residents. Now Cassim and the other people faces a $250,000 fine and prison sentence. There are still a lot of confusion things influence his families. After I read it I had think a lot: first of all, as an expat who live aboard, do not do somethings illegal. And the second, for different country the civilizations have different cultural, it is rude to expose it to public. For the end, learn to protect yourself in a right and useful way. http://www.expatsblog.com/news/0212135878/us-expat-in-dubai-arrested-for-cybercrime
Yes, I agree, it's important to do the right thing in your new country, and sometimes it's hard to know what that is. But you shouldn't expect that your new country is just like your old one--in that case you could just stay home!
Today, I read a blog about Expat Travels, she is Meryl, a twenty-something New Zealander, addicted to Asia and now living on a resort in the Maldives with her husband and daughter. She said, "Living here you get mightily sick of hearing the cliche “paradise on Earth” from well-meaning friends back home…" Maldives have many island, different island have different feature and different activities. From Hulhumale' (the airport island) it's about a 30 minute journey by seaplane. When she in the seaplane she can saw thousand tiny green dots in a vast blue ocean, I can imagine that. I also can see the Enthusiasm in her words, so how do you think about Male? Which island do you want to go? Let's go to the Male!
I want to go! Actually I was there once but only in the airport. It looked very beautiful. There are a lot of great islands to visit. There is nothing better!
Today, I read the blog is talking about the Dubai brings compulsory health insurance for expats. Recently Dubai set up a new policy that every expats, locals and vistor must have medical insurance. The government may finish this policy in more than 3 years and it will increase the cost of health insurance in Dubai. The small business such as coffee shop and small company should increase they price of they product for giving stuff the health insurance. so many foreign company think this is too abrupt. In fact, this policy had been put forward many years ago and prohibit by the financial crisis. In conclusion, the people who work in the Dubai is very happiness and safety.
If I remember right, there are more ex-pats in Dubai than there are natives. Isn't that a funny combination? And of course insurance is important. Otherwise the costs are too high.
The blog Dubai retirement homes for expats as well as Emiratis I read today is like a big deal for Dubai's emirate. They want to increasing the number of medical tourists to Dubai, and there are three styles of the retirement homes, nursing homess, independent retirement homes, and assisted living homes. They all built in a special place. So the CEO said that they need local workers not the expat workers. And the facility will be devoted to education and the creation of a pool of qualified, professional health workers and doctors in the area. And some recent reports by Western media state that a shortage of healthcare skills in the Gulf State is resulting in dependence on expatriates to fill elementary jobs. At the same time, Saudi Arabia is to put in place stringent measures to fight with fake saudization by employers. It's not allowed to recruit expat workers.
Interesting choice. I haven't been to Dubai yet. However, all those fancy buildlings are certainly enticing. My students from Dubai told me that they love their beautiful city. I can believe them!
I'm very like to travel because tour is interesting, relax, and travel can help me learn a lot of knowledge about different culture.Today I read a blog the name is 'Top 50 Ways You Know You're an Expat Living in Vienna' this is a interesting example of the different national culture.
